Routine Transports
Routine Transports (low acuity) where the expectation is that the patient won’t require any clinical care, assessment or monitoring while in transit but is unable to walk and unsuitable for wheelchair transport. An example would be a person requiring transport home from hospital.
Crewing consists of two qualified patient transport officers, one with a minimum of 12 months experience.
Patient transport officers have first aid qualifications, additional tertiary education relating to ambulance transport care and must have undergone patient transport and emergency ambulance driver training.
