How we’re performing
The Metropolitan Ambulance Service is committed to providing excellence in everything it does. As such we measure ourselves against a number of benchmarks. Our response times are established by government guidelines.
We believe that there are many other measures of a successful ambulance service. We are demonstrating a focus on patient outcomes by measuring cardiac arrest survival rates and the reduction of pain scores.
We also constantly track our performance against our strategic plan which provides an overview of the direction of our whole organisation.
A federal government report by the Australian Productivity Commission also compares how combined services of MAS and Rural Ambulance Victoria rate against other Australian services.
