Stretcher vehicles
The Metropolitan Ambulance Service fleet consists of 162 stretcher vehicles including Mercedes Benz 316 Sprinters and Ford F350’s.
We continually upgrade equipment to support paramedics in the delivery of the highest level of clinical care and to improve paramedic safety.
It is a high priority for the Metropolitan Ambulance Service to have in operation the safest and best performing stretcher ambulance vehicles possible. There is a strong focus on vehicle safety, in relation to both performance and staff OHS issues.
We have recently upgraded our emergency ambulance vehicle fleet to Mercedes Benz Sprinter ambulances.

We have a number of Land Cruiser all-terrain vehicles, which are used to go off road to reach patients in remote areas. These vehicles operate are placed in areas where there is sometimes a need to travel along bush and fire tracks.
