Student paramedics

When we first recruit people as a paramedic they operate as a student ambulance paramedic for two years.

During this time they receive ongoing training in our procedures and protocols. The fundamentals of their medical training are delivered by external university providers prior to employment. With the help of a clinical instructor, student ambulance paramedics undertake further clinical study, on-road training and associated study days.

A student ambulance paramedic will always be paired to work with a qualified ambulance paramedic during this time.
