Public Access Defibrillators

The Metropolitan Ambulance Service, through its public access defibrillator (PAD) program, continues to encourage major public venues to improve public access to cardiac defibrillation – the definitive treatment for cardiac arrest.

We have strategically placed defibrillators at 19 busy public venues, including the National Gallery of Victoria, Tullamarine Airport and Melbourne Zoo. Staff working at these sites are trained to use the defibrillators and play a critical role in the chain of survival.
