Resource Management

The computer aided dispatch system is backed by a Motorola mobile data terminal which has an automatic vehicle locator. Every MAS ambulance uses a Global Positioning Satellite system. This system alerts the dispatchers in the communications centre to the availability and location of the closest ambulance assisting in the most efficient use of resources. Operational managers (Duty Team Managers) are rostered 24 hours a day at the Communications Centre to manage emergency resource issues.
