As the First Aid Training and Qualifications division of Ambulance Victoria, AVFA is dedicated to ensuring that as many Victorians as possible are equipped with the skills to cope in an emergency. We call on the latest in clinical practice to ensure that our courses include up-to-date recommendations from our clinical experts, the Australian Resuscitation Council and other specialist organisations.

We have a team of 14 full-time staff (including 5 full-time senior instructors) and over 100 part-time instructors, many of whom are paramedics and all of whom are both qualified trainers and First Aid practitioners.

The AVFA business is based in Ballarat and is the overall responsilbilty of State Manager, Peter Holyoake with the help and support of three functional managers, John Morris, Training Manager (course content and delivery), Tim Owen, Finance and Administration Manager (finance, administration and customer services) and Melbourne based Business Development Manager, Stephen Willis.

Anna Sims, Training Programs Co-ordinator is responsible for course venues and logistics and she is supported in Melbourne by Training Support Officers, Mishann Hamilton and Jade Hottes. 

Our Ballarat based team is completed by Meagan Fitzell, Finance and Adminstration Officer, and Customer Service Consultants Rhona Wilson, Rebecca Nunn and Catriona Taylor.
