Emergency response plan

MAS aims to respond to disasters, emergencies and major incidents in the most effective manner possible.

An Emergency Response Plan has been developed to guide the entire organisation’s response to both small and large incidents.

The plan clearly describes key roles across MAS and provides a model for response to all types of incidents, especially those with multiple casualties, in coordination with external agencies and organisations.

In a major emergency, MAS is responsible for:

  • Pre-hospital care and coordination of medical resources and treatment at the scene
  • Transporting victims to appropriate medical facilities
  • The comprehensive plan details processes to be applied across all types of incidents, outlines levels of notification and activation required and assesses impact to normal operations.
