Ambulance Emergency Operations Centre
This is the nerve centre of the Metropolitan Ambulance Service when planning for and responding to major events and emergencies.
The Ambulance Emergency Operations Centre was established to give a central focus to management, control and coordination of major incidents.
With the aid of state-of-the-art technology, the centre gives MAS the capacity to take over the management of a major incident, allowing normal business to occur uninterrupted.
A hi-tech video conferencing system can link the scene to the Emergency Operations Centre and MAS headquarters as well as key locations such as the 000 call centre at Tally Ho.
The Emergency Operations Centre has effectively managed the MAS response to several incidents including the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
