Types of cases

Paramedics and registered nurses who staff the Referral Service take up to 70 calls a day for low acuity complaints.

These include:

  • Headaches
  • Abdominal pain
  • Allergies
  • Eye problems or injuries
  • Non-violent psychiatric cases
  • Single fainting episodes
  • Traffic accident, no injuries
  • Traumatic injuries, not dangerous or non recent injuries
  • Back pain
  • Burns
  • Heat/cold exposure
  • Overdose/poisoning
  • Pregnancy (no contractions, waters broken)
