Alternate service providers
To ensure callers get an appropriate and coordinated response to their health needs, the Call Referral Service links to a wide range of alternate service providers. These include nursing services, locum medical services, Crisis Assessment and Treatment (CAT) teams (for appropriate mental health cases), local community health services and drug and alcohol service providers.
Once a referral has been made, the alternate service provider calls the patient within an hour to ensure their condition has not deteriorated and attends the patient’s home, usually within four hours.
